Erikson Daniel Conkling is a graduate of Indiana University South Bend with a B.A. in Political Science. Academically, he graduated from the Walden University School of Public Administration with a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Public Policy. In May 2009, Conkling was awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Walden University in recognition of his commitment to public service and social change and success in pursuing a doctoral degree in his field. He was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Public Affairs and the Administration in July 2009.

Professionally, Erikson is the New Student Advisor at Ivy Tech's Kokomo campus. He holds faculty positions at both Ivy Tech Community College and Trine (formerly Tri-State) University. He teaches Social and Behavioral Sciences, with specializations in Economics and Political Science. Professor Conkling is also an economics contributor for WSAL radio in Logansport, IN.
